The Pink Macaroon | Spy X Family

Pink Macaroon refers to the food that is featured in episode 29 of Spy x Family. Titled as “The Pastry Of Knowledge”. The story centers all about the pink macaroons that contains mysterious effects. It is the all about Anya whose grades are low—until news came, there is a pastry chef in the cafeteria in their school, which is known for creating “Pastry of Knowledge”. He made this mysterious food (The Macaroons) not just good in taste but also gives an excellent knowledge. My perception in this anime episode of Spy X Family is the animation and reactions are exaggerated. I don’t usually watch anime but maybe i can give an exception to this. I love how the story was comprehensive, funny and relatable (as someone doesn’t watch anime)

The part i enjoyed the most, when the boy managed to get the last mysterious macaroon made by the Pastry Of Knowledge. And Anya and her friends were too late, however the boy who was able to buy the last mysterious macaroon, he was generous to share. However, he can only give 4 macaroons to them. For them to be able to get one macaroons each, they played this card. And the playing cards were also very intriguing, but somehow it bores me as someone doesn’t play cards. This part was very thrilling too, since the players had to pick cards and if they get the joker they are the winner, which is the one who will able to have the macaroons. 

When Anya and Boy are the only last standing players in cards, the boy was about to win—when Anya used her charisma and cuteness to make the boy agree that she can have the last piece of macaroon. And it’s actually cute, it is not romance but i can see the cute little interaction between them, which i think elevates the episode and  the most interesting part. 

At the end of the episode, Anya had the last macaroon. She actually offered the boy to share to the macaroon. But somehow the boy is really star struck at the beauty and cuteness of Anya. And he declined the offer of Anya to share. 

Overall, i found this episode surprisingly enjoyable—even i am not a big fan of anime. However,  it catches my attention and very well interesting. It had a mix of comedy, with a light thrill and wholesome interactions between the characters. The concept of a pastry chef who does mysterious food, is actually a great idea, it was clever. And the way the characters acted and does silly things made it even more extra.
